What is Conservation Mounting

Conservation mounting is a term used to describe the use of materials and techniques that will provide protection to an artwork, and the avoidance of practices that will damage the look and value of a work. We only use mount board that meets Fine Art Trade Guild conservation standards., and specialist acid free tape to ensure that your picture could be removed from the mount at a later date undamaged.

Colours

As well as our standard whitecore acid free, which we stock in over 80 colours, we stock museum board, black core mount, heavyweight thick mount and metallic and suedette finishes.

Apertures

We use a computer controlled mount cutting machine to ensure our mounts are accurately cut. As well as square and rectangle apertures, We can also cut multiple apertures and a variety of shaped apertures including ovals, circles as well as more complex custom shapes. If you have a specific mounting request, just come into our shop, or email us at orders@courtyardframing.co.uk and we will be happy to discuss the possibilities with you.
