What is Conservation Mounting
Conservation mounting refers to the use of materials and techniques designed to protect artwork over time, while avoiding methods that could damage its appearance or value.
We use only mount board that meets Fine Art Trade Guild conservation standards, together with specialist acid-free tapes, ensuring that your artwork can be removed from the mount in the future without harm.
Colours
Alongside our standard acid-free white-core boards, which are available in over 80 colours, we also stock:
– Museum board
– Black-core mount board
– Heavyweight thick mount board
– Metallic and suedette finishes
Apertures
We use a computer-controlled mount cutting machine to ensure every mount is cut accurately and consistently.
In addition to square and rectangular apertures, we can cut:
– Multiple apertures
– Ovals and circles
– Complex custom shapes.
If you have a specific mounting request, just come into our shop, or email us at courtyardgallery@live.co.uk and we will be happy to discuss the possibilities with you.
Large quantities / trade orders
We regularly work with both artists and businesses on larger mount orders.
